Community Impact
A vertically integrated, social enterprise
Commitment to Community
At Forgotten Forest, we’re a vertically integrated, social enterprise that believes the ultra-specialty markets for coffee and cacao present an opportunity for agrarian resurgence in Puerto Rico.
Today, Forgotten Forest is:
A community of over 50 like-minded farmers committed to quality, organic practices, and transparency
A network of 3 nursery sites specialized in producing either heirloom coffee seedlings, native leguminous shade tree seedlings, erosion-mitigating plants & experimental companion crops.
A distributed supply chain of small-scale producers of organic inputs such as lombri-compost, essential microbe concentrates, and natural soil amendments.
One central hub, Centro Tanama which acts as a basecamp for community connections, purchasing and processing, research and development, technical training, educational experiences, and entertainment & cultural experiences.
A coalition of thought leaders, non-profit organizations, industry leaders, and a mission-aligned creative community.
A local volunteer brigade of over 500 members.
